NEWS 2006 PLANO BPM3 Szkieve's set at Plano B in Rio de Janeiro on the 21st of July 2006 is now available online in the series of MP3 releases by Antena. The version available is unedited and has a very average sound quality. The most interesting part are the hot winter ambient sounds from the carioca street nearby. Szkieve will play at a Biometrik event in Québec City on the 21st of May. Other acts will include Vromb, C-drik/Kirdec, Antigen Shift etc. ¤ more info (BioMetrik) POP CORE Szkieve will present for the first time a performance entitled "Le Bruit du Dollarama / The Noise of Dollarama" at la SAT on May 25th in Montréal during a MixSessions Night. Other performances will include hardcore remixes of Elvis, blenders playing music, other strange performances etc. Here is the outline for my performance: Dans le cadre de la soirée Pop Core à la SAT, je vais présenter une performance intitulée "Le Bruit du Dollarama / The Noise of Dollarama". Pour cette performance, j’utiliserai comme uniques sources sonores des jouets d’enfants et autres gadgets achetés dans les magasins du dollar. Avec différents outils d’enregistrement et de captation de sons, j’explorerai donc d’une manière bruitiste l’univers sonore des objets électriques et électroniques disponibles dans ces magasins. La performance sera accompagnée d’une présentation visuelle inspirée par l’esthétique des magasins du dollar. During the Pop Core night at the SAT, I will be presenting a performance entitled "Le Bruit du Dollarama / The Noise of Dollarama". For this performance, I will be using kids toys and other gadgets exclusively bought at dollar stores as the sole sources of sound. With various sound recording techniques I will be exploring, in a noisy approach, the sonic universe of electric and electronic devices available at these stores.
